The story behind Lil Sista’s Goody’s starts with two sisters cooking for their families, long before there was a restaurant on Napa’s Main Street.

Their daughters, cousins Ann and Sheneen, grew up with those Louisiana recipes and later turned that shared history into a food business.

After years in catering, they opened a restaurant where those family dishes could reach a wider table.

It is the sort of backstory that gives a restaurant name meaning: the little sisters were their mothers.

A menu with Southern roots

The published menu includes oxtails in gravy, fried catfish, fried or smothered chicken, and shrimp and grits.

Sides include collard greens, candied yams, rice and gravy, and mac and cheese.

Most listed dinner entrées come with two sides, while shrimp and grits is listed on its own.

There is room for a smaller first course, too, with fried ribs, lobster bites and sweet potato honey corn muffins among the appetizers.

Desserts carry the family theme forward, including Momma Barbs 7up pound cake with lemon icing and a salted caramel peach cobbler.

Check the current menu before choosing: dishes can change with the season and availability.

Make a plan for brunch

Lil Sista’s Goody’s also offers a Sunday brunch buffet, a different way to explore the kitchen than ordering a single dinner plate.

The posted brunch menu mixes breakfast choices with dishes such as gumbo, oxtails, fried chicken and shrimp and grits.

Sunday seatings are listed at 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., with a 90-minute dining window.

For a group, check the restaurant’s reservation terms before booking; deposits and added gratuity apply to parties of five or more.

Find Lil Sista’s Goody’s at 1300 Main Street, Suite 150, Napa.

Reservations are available online or by text at 209-244-4458.

The restaurant’s website and Instagram page are the best starting points for current hours, specials and brunch details.

Napa could use more places sharing food traditions like this. That peach cobbler has my attention.

Rosa F.Same here, a family recipe like that makes the menu feel special. Peach cobbler sounds hard to pass up.

Deposits and added gratuity for five or more is worth knowing before you make plans with everyone. The brunch options sound great though.

Mike D.Good point, especially with a bigger group. Nice that the article spells out the terms before anyone books.

I grew up eating smothered chicken and rice gravy, so this menu feels like home. Hope I get a chance to try it soon.

Good reminder to check the menu first. Seasonal changes can be a bummer when you show up wanting one specific dish.

Fried ribs and sweet potato honey corn muffins both sound amazing. I would absolutely order too much.

Nina PatelI’d probably overorder too. Those muffins sound like they’d be hard to save for later.

I didn't know they had a Sunday buffet. Does anyone know if you need to book pretty far ahead?

Rob C.The article lists two Sunday seatings, so I’d check their reservation page for availability before you settle on a date.

The little sisters being their mothers is such a sweet story. You can tell the name means a lot to them.

A 90 minute brunch window sounds a little rushed if you're going with a group. Still, gumbo and breakfast on the same buffet is tempting.

Love seeing family recipes make it onto Main Street. Shrimp and grits and candied yams would be my order.

That 7up pound cake with lemon icing sounds like something my grandma used to make. I may have to stop in just for dessert.

I know a lot of people like it, but oxtail just doesn't do it for me. I'd be happy to try their greens and mac & cheese though.

Maria G.Fair enough, the greens and mac and cheese sound like a solid plate on their own.
