Ray Ray’s Brings Austin-Style Breakfast Tacos to St. Helena |
Chef Rachel Williams turns a love of Tex-Mex into an all-day stop on Main Street |

Breakfast does not have to end when the morning does.
At Ray Ray’s Tacos in St. Helena, eggs, cheese and warm tortillas have a place on the menu all day.
Chef-owner Rachel Williams built the shop around a love of Austin-style breakfast tacos, drawing on her time in Texas and her North Carolina childhood.
Her path also runs through Napa Valley: she trained at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone before launching her namesake pop-up in 2019.
The result is a Main Street stop where a chef’s background meets a meal you can eat with your hands.
Start with the breakfast menu
The Eleanor combines bacon, scrambled eggs and Monterey Jack in a flour tortilla.
The Debbie swaps in shredded brisket, while the Camille pairs avocado with eggs and cheese.
For a different starting point, the Father Jan brings refried black beans, avocado and pico de gallo together in a corn tortilla.
It is listed as a vegan option, rather than an egg taco with something left out.
These are individual tacos, so checking the full menu makes it easy to choose a couple of different fillings.
The wider offering also includes signature tacos, salads, salsas and queso.
That range makes the shop worth considering for lunch or an early evening bite as well as breakfast.
Eat there or bring tacos home
Ray Ray’s describes a space with community tables and sidewalk seating, with online ordering available for pickup.
For a household meal, its build-at-home taco kits offer another way to bring the food to the table.
Taco boxes and catering are also available for groups.
Find Ray Ray’s at 1304 Main Street, St. Helena.
The posted hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the shop closed Sundays.
If Main Street parking is busy, the restaurant points visitors toward Railroad Avenue behind the shop.
Check the current menu and hours before heading out, especially if you are planning around a particular dish. |

Individual tacos are nice when you want to try more than one filling. The black bean and pico one caught my eye.
Ronald F.The black beans, avocado and pico sound like a great combo. Let us know what you think.
CIA Greystone to breakfast tacos is quite a path. Would love to hear how she came up with the menu.
Sophie K.Same here, I’d be curious how her time in Texas shaped the flavors.
Closed Sundays is a bummer, but I’ll try to remember to go on a Saturday morning.
Mitch D.Saturday morning sounds like a good plan. You could try a couple of different ones while you’re there.
My family loves getting a few different tacos and sharing. These sound like they’d be great for that.
Tasha L.That’s how I’d order too. A couple of different fillings makes it fun to share.
I like that they’re open until 8. Good to know there's somewhere for an early dinner too.
Ed B.That later closing time is handy. Not many spots downtown make an easy early dinner.
Austin breakfast tacos in St. Helena, I’m in. Camille with avocado sounds like my kind of breakfast.
Anyone tried the taco kits at home? Seems like a fun easy dinner idea.
Glad they mention Railroad Avenue parking. Main Street can be a pain when it's busy.
Lena M.Definitely useful to know. I’ve circled around Main a few times looking for a spot.
I’ve driven past 1304 Main so many times and never stopped. The Debbie with brisket might change that.
The Father Jan sounds good, especially since it's a real vegan option and not just a taco with the eggs removed.
Tom R.Agreed, it sounds like a thoughtful option rather than an afterthought.
Breakfast tacos all day sounds perfect. I want to try the Eleanor next time I'm on Main Street.
Maria G.The Eleanor is a solid pick. I like that you can get it well past breakfast time.
